Supporting Addiction Free Environments (SAFE)

Supporting Addiction Free Environments (SAFE) is made up of individuals and organizations that want to see the reduction of incidence and prevalence of substance use among adults and adolescents in Lake County, Indiana. This coalition brings together all sectors of the community to build a safe, happy, and healthy environment for its residents. Members include professionals from the prevention/education, substance abuse treatment/intervention, and law enforcement/justice fields.

These members work together towards one goal: substance-free environments for the Lake County, Indiana residents. Please consider becoming involved in SAFE to join in the effort to combat drug and alcohol abuse in Northwest Indiana. Any Lake County, Indiana resident or organization is welcome to join. The coalition allows for community members and agencies opportunities for networking, partnership, and referral services, as well as training and grant funding opportunities.

Community Level Prevention Programming

Prevention Services utilizes community-level, change strategies to reduce and prevent underage drinking, illicit drugs use, and prescription drug abuse. Our public health approaches to preventative services and behavioral issues incorporate an action plan that utilizes prevention messaging, environmental strategies, and model-prevention programs.
